Destination Overview
Antigua is located in the Leeward Island, in the Eastern Caribbean area and is a wonderful Caribbean Holiday Destination for couples, single travellers and families as is it has something for everyone. It is a laid back Caribbean destination with white sandy beaches and safe seas with a nearly unbroken wall of coral reef.

Whilst visiting Antigua you must visit the heritage filled Nelsons dockyard, which is full of culture. The English Harbour is also definitely worth a visit with its selection of fine restaurants and reggae inspired nights at Antigua’s highest point, Boggy Peak, offering outstanding panoramic views.

 

Culture
During your stay, why not let your hair down with the wide range of water sports and other sporting activities; such as snorkelling and scuba diving where you can experience some great Caribbean ship wrecks. For those of you who want to stay above water, then why not try a spot of sailing at Antigua’s sailing event which takes place in April. It may be that you have a keen interest in nature, if so, then Antigua is home to one of the planet’s most notorious bird sanctuaries in the world. Or why not make Antigua the backdrop to your special day by hosting your wedding on this stunning island. You won’t go wrong with this Caribbean destination.

Beaches
With over 365 beaches, there is one for each day of the year – all offering white powder sands, this destination is a paradise island. Antigua offers both Caribbean and Atlantic oceans. To the North coast you will find the lively Dickenson Bay and also Runaway Bay. They are great for those seeking on the beach resort experience with lots of restaurants, shops and laid back bars. On the East coast of the island you will find Half Moon Bay. This magnificent national park is home to one of the most beautiful beaches on the island.

Cuisine
Antigua offers a range of cuisine with something for everyone and is well established for its great seafood, Italian, French and English dishes. You will find some fantastic restaurants along the English Harbour specialising in some great dishes and whilst you enjoy some of Antigua’s finest cuisine you can sit back and watch the world go by.

Climate
Antigua is a great choice as it is one of the driest islands in the Caribbean and rain falls mainly between September and November, with July and August being the hottest months, and January and February being the coolest but still maintaining excellent temperatures.
