Destination Overview
The Bahamas are a true Caribbean paradise, made up of 700 islands all with their own stunning beaches. The collection of islands feature the clearest water in the world – perfect for snorkelers and divers to view the third largest reef in the world. The Bahamas is also home to Nassau’s Cable beach, a brilliant beach to visit.

Culture
Every Bahamian enjoys colourful art, lively music and soulful dance; it is a part of each and every one of them. Bahamians offer a great service with a laid back view on things. The national language of the Bahamas is English, though there is a Bahamian English dialect.

Cuisine
While in the Bahamas, you have to enjoy the true Bahamian cuisine with it’s unique flavoured food – you really have to taste it to believe it. Seafood is the main diet in the Bahamas and its no wonder with the array of fish available. A local favorite is fresh conch that has been scored, drizzled in lime juices then sprinkled with Bahamian spices making it an amazingly tasty local dish.

Beaches
The Bahamas is home to famous pink sandy beaches as well as the traditional powdery sand, with its crystal-clear water lapping at the shore. They are some of the best and most unspoiled beaches in the world. Head down to the popular beaches such as Cable beach or discover your own secret haven on one of the many islands.

Climate
The trade winds that gently blow across the Bahamas mean it’s blessed with warm but bearable weather all year round. The cooler time of the year is from September through to May but even then the temperature averages 70-75 degrees Fahrenheit. During the rest of the year there is a high humidity as well as a higher temperature averaging between 80-90 degrees Fahrenheit. At night the temperature only drops 5 – 7 degrees.
